Spirituality and How to use the Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction is a spiritual law every bit as real as The Law of Gravity. A simple analogy is whenever one looks into a mirror, for instance in a bathroom, he gets an exact return image. This image is non judgmental, non altering exact reproduction of what faced it. The Law of Attraction is the same with life. If I put love into my life, I get love in return. If I put joy into my life, I get joy in return. If I put anger in my life, I get anger in return. If I put resentment in my life, I get resentment in return.

The law does not guarantee that the emotion will be returned by the original object of my emotion, but it will come back from somewhere. There have been times when, for no known reason, someone has gone off on me or done something very nice for me “out of the blue,” so to speak. A shining example of this law in action was when I was in the madness, I thought that most people were really rotten. When I started sobering up and learning to treat people better, I was amazed at how nice most of them seemed to become. The rest of them at least became tolerable. As I continue working on my program, I no longer feel threatened or defensive about anyone. This does not mean that I like everybody. It just means that, if I just accept them as ‘it is what it is,’ I can continue to be Happy, Joyous, and Free in my own life, unencumbered by negativity about others.

We have discussed The Law of Attraction and Divine Oneness or We-ness before and by now probably know that we need each other to succeed. Patterns are repeated throughout the universe. Think about the thoughts and ideas that go through your head about a whole lot of things. “Ah-ha, I have an original idea!” Then, think of hearing someone else say the same thing at a later time and then maybe someone else the same. I feel this a lot at AA meetings. There are no original thoughts in my head, only thoughts and ideas placed into the Divine Mind which are shared with me by my Higher Power.

I do not like hearing “As so and so says” followed by a statement because then others seem to feel obligated to attribute it to a particular person not the Higher Power who originated it. Then, if the person falters, we feel we must change our thoughts about the quoted phrase. If I live in the now and stay in the awareness of the now, I and the people around me will be truly Happy, Joyous, and Free. Like attracts like so who would you like to be around to share your time with?

The Oneness or we-ness with all that exists that we spiritually share with all is a tremendously rewarding way of life. Where else can one find something so comforting and exhilarating that makes us want to share it with everyone and makes us feel so complete? Abraham Hicks says “Your life is right now! It’s not later! It’s not in that time of retirement. It’s not when the lover gets here. It’s not when you’ve moved into the new house. It’s not when you get the better job. Your life is right now. It will always be right now. You might as well decide to start enjoying your life right now, because it’s not ever going to get better than right now — until it gets better right now!”

I have such Happiness, Joy, and Freedom that I never thought existed when in the madness and if it did, not for me. My prayer is that you have as much as I have and even much more. When you have more, it gives me something to reach for, too. It is simple – Just work the program of AA to the best of your ability and you will have it. As it says in How it Works – If you want what we have and are willing to go to any lengths to get it” you have come to the right place. I was ready to go to any lengths to get it and am still willing to go to any lengths to keep it. You do the same and you will have it.
