Spirituality and How To Finally really enjoy life

How things have changed. Especially since I found the program of Alcoholics Anonymous! First, this is where I first heard of Spirituality. I had been a very self absorbed, very large, very angry, very violent, well armed, well trained man. Had no real friends and a family that feared me. I soon became a man who loves everyone and can’t hide this fact. One who absolutely loves letting people know that they are loved. Whose family loves him and regularly shows it. One whose sense of humor has done a 180. It changed completely. Was one that usually joked by putting people as the butt of the jokes. It became one that was not harming anyone.

Before, I thought that I would never again enjoy anything. Everything that I did had drinking involved. How could I ever fish again without beer in the boat? How could I ever go golfing without beer in the bag or cart. What about riding my motorcycle? Did I ever ride without drinking being involved somehow? How could I enjoy anything, ever?

Using the spiritual program of AA, I changed. Changed into one that thoroughly loved doing the same activities. But now, one that also actually did them much better. I was able to make this transformation completely. This was accomplished after faking it until finally making it. By totally buying into the spiritual portion of the program. I actually sometimes felt like I was overdoing it. I then evolved further. Changed into being comfortable with the spiritual life. Even wanting to do more.

Really, I was one with no religious or spiritual training or experience coming into the program. This changed to embracing the concepts and ideas of working Step 3. Step 3 has us turn our will and our life over to the care of God as we understood Him. Allowing my Higher Power, who could be called anything that I chose, to handle the heavy work. This, in turn, allowed me to simply carry on. Also enjoy being blessed with this life. Then I finally knew for a certitude that one gets out of life just what one puts into it. This is the Law of Attraction.

What about you? Do you really want to be Happy, Joyous, and Free? The answer is clear to me. Just embrace this very simple program that is made for complicated folks like us. Then LET it come true for us. Let the good times roll! This is exactly how we get the Promises to come true for us. COD, Come On Down! God bless you all!
