to feel good all over!
I don’t believe that we could ever think too much about gratitude. Why? Because, when I am counting my blessings, I don’t have time to moan and groan.
Once, I thought that I could count all of my blessings on the fingers of one hand and have most fingers not used. When I came into AA, I was quickly advised, in not too gentle terms, to really look deep and then count again.
I had at one time thought seriously about committing suicide and backed out at the last minute each time. What good is my life if I feel like ending it?
For one, without life, how can I possibly have any improvements if I am not alive to take advantage? I quickly saw many in the program who I knew who had been as miserable as I had been before working the AA Program.
So, I had some incentive to follow their next suggestion of “Fake it till you make it.” I then faked thinking well of being alive and started to look for other “excuses” to feel better.
I was noticing that, as I “faked it” I started feeling better about myself. This led quickly to my feeling better about others. This triggered my observation that others were also looking at and treating me differently.
This was showing me that the Spiritual Law of Attraction really works. What I put into life, I get in return. Just like, what I put into a mirror is exactly what I get back.
Some of the people who I had previously thought of as real jerks were turning into pretty nice people. My name is Jim and I am addicted to everything so one was never enough.
This meant that I wanted much more. And then I noticed that the more I gave, the more I received.
Today, I have a life that money can’t buy. Is every day full of chuckles? Of course not, but if I don’t drink or drug today, I have choices and I choose to be Happy, Joyous, and Free.
I’ve been asked before how to pray. Not only pray but show gratitude to God for all that He has blessed us with. My response was “Just say “Thank you.” If wanting more, just say “Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
Recently, my spiritual advisor, Reverend Stephanie Sorensen, of the Flint Life Enrichment Center, expanded on the theme of gratitude. She said “The moment we were created, the moment we came into being, we received a Divine Proposal from the Unlimited Source of our life to take care of us for all our life, here and hereafter.
We were offered a life filled with abundant good — health, happiness, loving relationships, financial ease, and creative fulfillment — while we embarked upon this human adventure of spiritual self-discovery.
We’ve never had to learn the hard way. That has been by choice. All we’ve ever needed to do is accept the proposal and say “Yes” to our Oneness with the Unlimited Provider of all Good that has promised (since the beginning) to take care of us.”
This was followed by a song sung on Youtube by Eddie Watkins, Jr “Say Yes, Yes, Yes!” He sings this with an enthusiastic vibe that has me wanting to dance just thinking about it.
This is the very feeling that you can have by saying “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” Oh, did I mention that you don’t need to be thanking for anything in particular? Just “Thank you” is enough!
Just the act of saying “Thank you” Or “Yes” lets God know how grateful you are. Wow, huh? Pretty simple stuff!
Now, enter The Law of Attraction. Since you are now showing that you do believe and are grateful, God gifts you with even more to be grateful for. The Law of Attraction says that you get out of life what you put into it.
When you show your gratitude, He rewards you equally. When He does, simply say “Thank you, thank you, thank you” or “Yes, Yes, Yes!” That’s all, folks! No more must be done! Told you it was simple! Thank you, God!
