The AA Program is a simple program for complicated folks. The foundation of the Program is spirituality and the “how to’s” are spelled out in the 12 Steps.

This is what enters the picture when you become sick and tired of being sick and tired. You’ve tried to sober up by yourself for a long time and it has not worked. Now, by using a system that has helped millions of people recover worldwide, you can too.

The first three Steps are the introduction to a whole new way of life. A life that is full of happiness, joy, and freedom. A life of sobriety.

Step 1 is: We admitted we were powerless alcohol — that our lives had become unmanageable. How many times did you try to stop drinking by yourself, only to fail? How long were you able to stay dry by yourself? Since you are looking into AA, it seems that you can’t.

Step 2 is: Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. We finally accepted that there was a Power greater than us. This Power created the universe and everything in it so why can’t It help us recover? I believe that He can!

Step 3 is: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him. Since the need was admitted in Step 1 and discovered there was help in Step 2, we turn it over to this Power in Step 3 and let Him help.

OK, once you have accepted the first three Steps, you are ready to go to the inventory portion of the 12 Steps. This stage is Steps 4, 5, and 10.
