Spirituality and How To Best Utilize Affirmative Prayer

First, what is Affirmative Prayer? We hear from Dr. Ernest Holmes. He was the founder of The Science of Mind. He asserts that Affirmative Prayer is when we pray, we should pray believing. What a wonderful, simple concept! Affirmative Prayer is based on the principle of oneness. There is no separation between you and Spirit, God, call it whatever or anything else in this universe. This is a major difference between spirituality and organized religion. Organized religions, such as Chrisitanity, Buddhaism, Islam, etc, are formed around belief in worship of a certain Higher Power.

Affirmative prayer is not the stereotypical form of prayer. The kind in which people are found making demands. Pleas. Or begging to a distant, far-off ‘God.’ One who seemingly may or may not answer! By praying affirmatively, we are able to change the state of our thoughts so that we recognize the attributes of God. Then, unify ourselves with those attributes. Followed by realizing that our desired outcome is at hand. And finally, give thanks, and let God take over.

Affirmative prayer combines the old AA adages of KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid) and Let Go and Let God! Hence, I say this is a very simple program for very complicated folks. Breath and let your Higher Power do His work. When this is done, I AM Happy, Joyous, and Free. You can be, too, if you KISS and Let Go and Let God! God bless you!
