just like an echo canyon.
If you put the sound of a roaring lion into an echo canyon, you do not get the sound of a purring kitten to return.
If you put the sound of laughing children into an echo canyon, you do not get the sound of rattles from a snake in return.
You simply get in return the sound that you put in, good or bad, loud or quiet, thunderous or soft.
Why is this, you may ask?
This is because the echo canyon is not judgmental.
Want to know something else that is not judgemental? The Universe is not judgemental! What you put into the universe is returned to you exactly the way that it was put in.
”Yeah, but, I did a favor for Pete and he just blew it off. He did not give me anything in return.” Don’t get caught up in the “Yeah, buts.” The universe will return favors, so to speak, but not always in the ways that you thought.
Did you ever have someone do something nice for you “Out of the blue?” Maybe this person was a complete stranger. One of the mistakes that I have made in the past was to question the motives for an unexpected favor.
If you are disappointed because someone did not return a favor that you did for them, maybe it is time to question your own motives for doing the favor in the first place.
Did you do it because it was the right thing to do or were you trying to “direct” your Higher Power to do your own bidding? Did I do it because it was right or was I trying to press my own will onto another?
Tough questions call for tough answers. What are your motives? Open a door for someone and then just move on. Move on instead of looking for a result that you are trying to “direct.”
Thank you, God!
