and it‘s yours for the asking
Are you one of the people who think that the only day that you should be thankful is Thanksgiving? Some may extend this to the entire month of November. And then let it go for another year!
If you did not drink or drug today, you have choices. Maybe for the very first time in your life. Choose to make every day Gratitude Day or Thanksgiving, and your days will be full of happiness, joy, and freedom.
You will be happy because you are now making good decisions that were difficult or impossible to make before.
Joy because you feel good about what you can now do. And also the decisions that you can make that you could not do for a long time.
Free of a mind-altering substance.
When you have an attitude of gratitude, blessings just seem to fall into your lap.
I thank my Higher Power for the fact that I now realize that I have a Higher Power. And this Power isn’t a punishing, judging God. Not one that is in male human form with long, shaggy, or curly hair sitting on some golden throne up in the sky someplace called heaven.
I discovered that my Higher Power is actually a loving, forgiving Power inside my heart. He is just waiting for us to acknowledge that He or It is there and ready to serve our very best interests.
Since I did not drink or drug today, I have discovered that this Higher Power, who I CHOOSE to call God, is actually working through me. Giving me Divine guidance and wisdom in every facet of my life whenever I choose to let It.
My God helped me survive the throes of active alcoholism and EVERYTHING that went along with that. My God allowed me to accept life on life’s terms without ever having to go back into the pit of despair that I was in.
This is, of course, no matter what has happened including the deaths of close ones, illness, injuries, cancer, and many of the obstacles thrown in our way as we make our way through life.
Itis as simple as: Do you want it? If so, take it. It is yours for asking! Thank you, God!
