Spirituality and The Most Powerful Part of Your Entire Existence Is Your Outstanding Mind.

You can actually choose how you will feel at any given time. Yes, the mind is really that powerful!

It is amazing what the mind can do. I am sometimes overwhelmed with the evidence that I find showing just what it is capable of doing. A thought comes before every action.

“This needs doing. This is how I will do it.” And “It” gets done! “A miracle!” “Impossible!” But, we are spiritual beings living in a spiritual universe and individual expressions of God. This means that we can do anything.

My spiritual advisor, Reverend Stephanie Sorensen, of the Life Enrichment Center in Flint, MI, said in a recent talk: “In The Science of Mind we read, “The Life within you is Complete and Perfect, and has no cares nor burdens.

It is free from restrictions, unlimited, and unconditioned. It is Free Spirit and cannot be bound. Rejoice in that Freedom.”

She went on to say “If we choose to, we can rejoice in our spiritual freedom even while we are in this human environment we are sharing together.

We can not only be free of thoughts that don’t bring about happy feelings, but free of restrictive thoughts about life that limit our experience of fully living with a consistent sense of well-being while we’re here.

We are free to escape the tight borders of the human mind that keep us locked up in our heads, filled with ideas and concepts about life but not living Life as we’re created to live It, and not experiencing life the way we are created to experience It.”

At one time when I was in my early 40s, I ballooned up over 300 pounds. I was 6’4″ at the time and could carry a lot but this was just way too much. I am addicted to everything, even cookies and ice cream.

So, I started walking for some exercise. This was boring so I would mix in some trots every once in a while. Long story short, I eventually ran a 5K race and finished it.

After the race, we went into a tent set up for after-race refreshments to get us out of the cold and snow. We are in Michigan and it was February. On a table were flyers for upcoming races and one was for the Detroit Marathon.

I picked one up and said to myself “If I can do 5K I can do a marathon. Then I went around telling everyone I knew or came in contact with that I was going to do the Detroit Free Press Marathon in October.

Guess what, I ran the 26.2-mile race that October and followed that with 3 or 4 more in the following years. I ran my last marathon at the age of 51 in Cleveland.

As I entered the final stretch, I felt all of the aches and pains and agony of the 1st time marathoner and saw the finish line in the distance. When I saw the finish line, I began bawling like a baby and laughing at the same time.

This was because I, then and there, absolutely KNEW that I could do ANYTHING that I set my mind to.

I was nearly qualified for the Boston Marathon and getting better but injuries ended my running. But they did nothing to take away the feeling of power over my lack of self-confidence. I was thinking that there‘s nothing that my God and I can’t accomplish!

Going back to a quote from one of my boyhood idols, Popeye, “I am what I am.” And, I AM a spiritual being. I AM living in a spiritual universe, that is governed by spiritual law.

As a divine being, I AM an individualized expression of God and one with all that exists. As long as I remember this, I can tap into the divine mind of the universe for knowledge and guidance. I must just remember to ask for it!

Have you ever wondered when seeing a child wonder at a concert piano, or a youngster singing flawless opera, how this could be? No matter how big your disbelief or problem is, your God is bigger. They are divine beings! That is how they can do these amazing things!

What’s in it for you, you may wonder? The more that you believe that your Higher Power is ready, able, and willing to guide you, the more He will do just that.

The lyrics of the old Gershwin song say in I Got Rhythm, “Who could ask for anything more?” You are able to use inspiration from your Higher Power. Who could ask for anything more? Who can really expect anything less?

This means that, if both the thought and the following action FEEL right, they ARE right!

I would be very pleased if you told me what you think about this in the comments.

Thank you, God!
