Spirituality and I Can’t. He Can. Think I’ll Let Him

This looks a lot like the first 3 Steps of a recovery program. Guess what. He can and It is!

Step 1 states: We admitted we were powerless over alcohol. If I’m powerless over something, it is true that I can’t!

Step 2 states: Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. If the Higher Power is able to do what I can not, then He Can!

Step 3 states: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him. Since I can’t and He can, finally I Think I’ll Let Him!

This program is a simple program for complicated folks. As simple as it is, it is not always easy. The simplicity, though, is one of the many reasons that it has worked and still is working for millions of people worldwide.

The ease of the program can only be looked at as what do you really want? If you can relate to the 1st Step, do you want to continue being powerless over alcohol? Also, do you wish to continue having an unmanageable life? Is it easier to continue living this way or are you willing to look at a simpler alternative?

If it works for this formerly very large, very angry, violent, well-armed guy, it can work for you! What do you have to lose besides guilt, shame, remorse, misery? Thank you, God!
